International Women's Day Festivities

Women in leadership improve diversity, leading to increased profitability in organizational performance. Women leaders are perceived to exhibit great interpersonal skills, which could be useful in formulating relationships with other employees. This results in increased employee engagement and positive workplace culture.
Diamond Trust Bank Tanzania has achieved a good gender balance at the workplace by setting a vivid example of a 51% to 49% female-to-male gender balance in its workforce.
The bank celebrated “International Women's Day” by launching a women's mentorship program in which women in managerial positions mentor those in lower levels. This facilitates guidance and sharing of experience through regular engagements, coaching and training.
Additionally, as part of “Women empowerment”, the bank donated cooking stoves to women self-help groups engaging in small-scale catering services [Mamantilie] in Sinza -Dar es Salaam and Zanzibar. These groups will be mentored over a period of 12 months in view of improving their business skills, bookkeeping and financial management.

The bank donated sets of modern energy cooking stoves to different self-help groups engaging in commercial catering services in Zanzibar.

The intention of the donation was to uplift the standard of productivity and increase their market acceptability while growing their revenue streams.
